Oh Snap!!

Dear all,

So this won't be very long at all due to the fact that today is a very busy day. It's my companion's last day in the mission, so yeah, that should be self explanatory. I officially lose him tomorrow, but transfers aren't until this Friday, so we will find out what's happening Thursday. Either way, I will have a new address. We moved this morning to our new members home and I will get that address to you all as soon as I find out if I'm staying or not. I hope I get to stay, it being my second area, I've loved it the 7 and a half months I've been here.

Well I got to go! I love you all! Stay safe, and stay cool! (It's not cold anymore! But I was told it's supposed to snow later this week. It better not.)

Transfers Coming Up Fast!

Dear all,
So next week will be transfers! I am not excited at all. I am losing my companion for sure because he is going home. He will be leaving next Tuesday (Exactly a week and one day from now) and then transfers are going to be that Thursday, so I will be companionless for like 2 days, so I'll have to be stuck with someone else. So I will find out then if I am staying or leaving, but even if I stay in my area I will be moving to another member's home, so my address is going to change either way, so if anyways wants to send me any letters or anything, wait until after transfers to get my new address.
As for the work out here, it's still been pretty slow. We've been doing a lot of service, so it hasn't been too bad, just not a lot of lessons. I still enjoy doing service though. It's been raining like none stop and it even snowed the other day. Haven't seen the sun in a while, which is a little hard, but I'll live. Life is still good.
Well, I hope everyone is doing great! I love you all!

This Is Spring?

Dear all,

So the weather was great and it felt like Spring was finally here! Until last week! It got cold again! Darn Iowa! I don't like the cold! Today is is snowing lightly! Oh joy! Maybe someday I'll learn to enjoy this cold weather, but not today.

In other news, this past week we has a Zone Training. The focus of the meeting was working with members and doing away with tracting. So it turns out that my Mission President has felt inspired to do away with tracting in this mission. He said with a lot of the talks during conference focused on Member Missionaries, that only affirmed to him that tracting is no longer a good idea and our focus should be more toward having the members become missionaries and finding those people for the missionaries to teach, because those are the people that get baptized and STAY active in the church. That doesn't mean we won't be doing any finding, we are still going to do street contacting and talk to people outside of there houses, but we will no longer knock on doors! Yeah! No more making people angry! But anyways, when we have no appointments and can't find anything to do, our first thing to fall to is visit members and help them become better missionaries, then street contacting if we can't get any of that done. So things are changing. But the Gospel is staying the same and the work is still going forward, even more then ever before!

Sadly, none of our investigators were able to come to church yesterday, but it was still a good work! I hope everyone is doing great! I love you all!

Sick During Conference :(

Dear all,

So the last two days during conference have been pretty rough for me. I was sick and not feeling good at all, which made it very hard to pay attention during conference. My head was throbbing, my eyes were burning, and my nose had the constant feeling of water shooting up it. But I must say, Elder Jeffery R. Holland's talk spoke straight to my soul like he always does! It sure was great stuff! May we all always do our best to act on the faith we do have, instead of worrying about the faith that we do not yet have.

As for the rest of the week, it was a pretty slow week. We had interviews with the President and exchanges with the Zone Leaders, so it was pretty busy. We weren't able to teach as many people as we would have liked, but it was still a good week none the less.

Well, I hope everyone is doing great. Haven't gotten a letter from any ladies in the mail for a while, so if any of you YSLs have the random urge to write a letter, shoot a letter my way. Haha ;)

I love you all! May God bless everyone and may we all pay close attention to the wonderful things we are blessed with!

Hardest Week Yet

Dear all,

So this past week I must say was the hardest week of my mission yet. It was hard because being a District Leader is a lot harder to get used to then I thought, I felt like my first District Meeting I conducted was poorly done, then right after that meeting I got a call from President saying that my Gandpa has passed away. It was really really hard. However, I knew it was coming. Right before I entered the MTC I went to say good bye to my Grandpa, and as I left I had a strong feeling that that would be the last good bye with my Grandpa. I now know that that was the Spirit telling me that he was going to pass away on my mission, and I have been expecting it. But that doesn't make it easier. It's still very hard, especially since my Uncle David passed away only a couple months earlier.

But the week wasn't all bad, we did have a baptism yesterday. Raymond was baptized, and it was a great Easter! The baptism was amazing! His nonmember mom came to it as well and she definitely felt the Spirit strongly. We hope to be able to have the opportunity to teach her as well. And we were also able to get Dalton and one of his friends set for the end of this month. Hopefully we can see that through, but if not, we still won't give up on them.

Well everyone, I just wanted to bare my testimony of the Plan of Salvation. I know that this life is not the end. I know that I will be able to see my Grandpa and Uncle David again. I can't wait to be able to thank them for fully for all the things they have done for me in my life. They have always been such great examples to me and I will miss them dearly until I see them again. I love you Grandpa and Uncle David. God be with you until we meet again!
