Getting Rid Of This Fat!!

Dear all,

As some of you may already know, meeting with Emily and her dad went really well. We had a good time and her dad was very friendly with us. I hope and pray to that he will one day accept the Gospel again, this time for himself. Emily told us that we were an answer to her prayers that she has been praying for years. To be an answer to someone's prayers is the best feeling in the world. When she told me that, I felt the spirit so strongly! It was amazing! I know that I have been in this area for this long for that reason. Our efforts may not get him baptized anytime soon, but I know that the Lord was in it! It truly was a remarkable experience. I hope to stay in contact with Emily while she is on her mission, especially one I leave this area, so I can see how her dad is doing! I love this Gospel so much!

The Hussings are still progressing amazingly! They are still set for the 9th of June and I don't see anything getting in the way of it. They are super ready and super spiritual people. I can't wait for their baptism!

As you can tell from the pictures, I have gotten fat. I have been avoiding send pictures because of this, but I just couldn't not send these pictures, it being so exciting and all. This is what happens when you drink soda and don't run it off. This Winter was really hard on me so I didn't run at all. For all you future missionaries, especially the ones going state side, don't let the members buy you soda every day!!! I've been soda free for about 3 or 4 months now, but just avoid it all together! I'm hoping to get rid of it fast. I ran for an hour and a half straight yesterday on our members NordicTrack thing. So hopefully if I keep this up, I will lose it all. If not, if I come home fat, I will do Insanity until it is gone! That's a promise. So family, remember this. If I come home still fat, I'm doing Insanity. I might do it even if I'm not fat, but there is no maybe if I am fat. Don't let me forget family! Haha :)

Well I love you all! I hope everyone is doing great! Always remember to do your best to be a blessing to others. When you pray, instead of asking for all these blessings all the time, ask Heavenly Father if you can be an answer to someone else prayers. You won't find a greater feeling anywhere else. :)

Craziest Sunday EVER!

Dear all,

So yesterday was crazy awesome! I don't know how many of you know or remember Emily Ross, but yesterday as we were greeting everyone as they enter the church building as usual, she walked in! My brain literally did this, "Oh that's a familiar face, so it's normal. OH wait! She's from Las Vegas! That's not normal!!!!!!!". It was crazy! So it turns out her dad lives here in the area that I've been in for more then half of my mission! I can't help but feel that this might be one of the reasons that I've been kept here for so long. So we are trying to see if we can get anything started with him. I sure hope so.

But that's not all that made yesterday so awesome and crazy! This older couple, Ralph and Peggy Hussing, randomly showed up to church and basically said they wanted to be baptized. Turns out that he is a former Community of Christ (RLDS) pasture and has resigned due to some changed they are making in that religion, specifically allowing homosexuals into the Priesthood and allowing homosexual marriages to be done in their churches. So we went and taught them last night and we are planning on baptizing them on June 9th! I am very confident that they will make this baptism date, especially since they have already made efforts to show that they are willing to change what they need to to be baptized, which isn't very much at all.

We have been trying really hard to keep our miles lower this past week, and we were obviously very blessed for our efforts!

I love you all and hope that everyone is doing great! Because I am! Haha :)

Happy Day After Mothers Day!

Dear all,
Happy day after Mother's Day! It sure was a great one! I got to talk to most of my family, which was awesome! We were also treated to some great Roast Linner by our former missionary housers. It was great to be able to do there dishes for them one last time. I sure will miss that house.
So this past week has been fairly stressful with our new Zone Leader pestering us about miles almost like every other day. It's definitely taken a toll on me and my energy, but I'm trying to get over this and just do the work, because I believe that is way more important then staying under "miles". I came out here to teach people about the Gospel, not to worry about how many miles a drive to teach these people. When it comes down to it, work is better then no work, and that's what I'll choose.
But on a happier note, my recent convert Raymond, if you guys remember me talking about him, he gave an amazing talk yesterday and it was simply awesome! He bore powerful testimony and even challenged his mom to investigate almost, right over the pulpit! It was great! I sure hope that after my mission, I can come back for his farewell!
Well, things are awesome. Me and my new companion get along really well. He's hilarious! It's been a great week. I hope everyone is doing great! I love you all! Until next week!

I Survived Yet Another Transfer

Dear All,

So transfers have past and here I am, still in Logan Iowa for another 6 weeks. That will be a total of 6 transfers/ 9 months in one area. This may mean I may end up just having 3 areas on my mission, but I will most likely end up with 4 or 5 or maybe even 6. We'll have to wait and see.
So Elder Hansen is home and I've received my new companion, Elder Bosen. He is awesome! And very funny. He's pretty calm too, he reminds me a lot of my brother in law Joey. This transfer is going to be a good one! Church yesterday as great! We had a lot of members come up to us and tell us that they have been talking to their friends about coming to church, so hopefully that brings some more baptisms into this wonderful ward!
The weather is still being super bipolar like always. Can't decided whether it wants to be cold or warm. Hopefully we get some warmer weather here soon though.
So I hope everyone is doing great! Things here are looking up! I love you all! Keep up the good work in all your different parts of the vineyeard!
