Crazy Week!!

Dear all,

And another week flies by! This past week was pretty good! We has a Zone Training which went well on Thursday. This next week we'll be having our Christmas Zone Conference which should be fun. We are doing a White Elephant! Can't wait!

As for our investigators Michelle and Nick are doing amazing still! I think Michelle is at the point where she knows the church is true, so the only thing that could really come in the way of her baptism on the 5th of January would be her own low self esteem. The Deakins have been amazing with fellowshipping her and have shown me the ideal teaching experience.

Chelsey however won't be getting baptized on the 29th. Reason being, she is moving this week out of our area. She decided to tell us a week before. But no worries, she isn't moving far. I know the Elders that will be in charge of her and I think they will take good care of her. They should be able to get her baptized and when they do, I will see about getting permission from President to be there for it!

Well that's it for me! I hope everyone's Christmas season is going great. Our prayers around the world have gone to those who have lost loved ones in the shotting. Those children are with our Heavenly Father, and I'm sure will make amazing missionaries on the other side. I love you all!

It's So Cold!

Dear All,

So I must say, today has been the coldest day of the year! This morning it was 6 degrees! Now it's in the 20s, which is still way too cold for my liking! I hope I survive this Winter! Haha jk, I know I will. It's just the tracting in the Winter is the most brutal. But all will be well!

So Michelle and Nick are still progressing pretty awesomely! Our meeting with them every Sunday at the Deakins home really does make my week. I love how much they are progressing and willing to learn more about the gospel! Chelsey however is degressing a little bit. She is still set, but she is now set for the 29th of December now. Hopefully she will get there, but I know whatever happens, she still has her agency and we can only do our best to help her get there.

So this Christmas seasons has been awesome! I love all the Christmas lights and all the Christmas music! My favorite Christmas song is God Rest ye Marry Gentlemen. I was practicing a simplified version of it on the piano this morning just as a fun little p-day activity. I love it! It's just such a great song!

Well I love you all! Keep up the good work and merry Christmas to all!

Hard Week

Dear all,

So this past week was pretty rough. We did a lot of finding with tracting and GQing (golden questions), and had no success. We even went through our area book and didn't find anyone who was really interested.

We did however set Michelle and Nick last night! They are set for baptism on the 5 of January. We also reset Chelsea for the 22nd because we found out that the 18th was actually a Tuesday and not a Saturday. Our focus has been mostly on those three, because they have been progressing the most out of everyone we are teaching. The Deakins have been amazing at fellowshipping Michelle and Nick. We just hope that we can continue to have the rest of the ward be as helpful as they have been.

Well as for the weather, it's been super foggy this past weekend. Driving in the fog is scary, esspecailly at night. That with the mix of deer and stuff, makes it even more scary for me. I won't go past 30 in that weather.

Well besides that everything has been pretty good. My new companion Elder Puckette has been pretty good. He's pretty slow, so he hasn't really sad much during lessons and he doesn't know how to really tract or GQ or start a conversation, but he has a good drive to do the work, which is more important then all of those things.

I love you all and hope everyone is doing well! Sorry if this email is a little crazy, there was a lot of missoinaries distracting me. Haha Well until next week!

Thanksgiving!

Dear all,

What an amazing Thanksgiving! It was awesome! We ended up spending it with the Deakins family. They are a great family. They feed us a lot and are great with team ups! And to my supprise Sister Deakin had amazing news that just made my Thanksgiving the absolute best! She had gotten in contact with JoAnn who told her how my family had came into contact with an old friend of mine in High School, Christian Painter. Christian and I weren't ever super close, but I always thought he was awesome and I always enjoyed talking with him. Well come to find out he is interested in hearing about the Gospel! I can't express how excited this made me. I know how much the Gospel can bless his life. This news made my Thanksgiving absolutely amazing!

And if that wasn't enough, we found a new investigator through this Thanksgiving with the Deakins. So one of the Deakins boys named Cody had a friend who had moved away then moved back into town, and his friend had asked if he could come over for Thanksgiving. And so because of this, the boys mom wanted to come along and pretty much contacted the Deakins (Keep in my mind that the Deakins have never met this lady or the son besides Cody knowning the son.) and asked if she could tag along. So we had two strangers to us and the Deakins there for Thanksgiving. The Deakins then brought them to church with them yesterday and yesterday night had an amazing less with both of them at the Deakins house. It was amazing! There names are Michelle and I believe the son's name is Nick. They both commited to being baptized once they recieve and comfirmatin, but without a date. We will be getting a date for baptism on our next visit which will be next Sunday!

As for Chelsey who we have been working with, she is set for baptism on the 18 of December! She didn't make it to church yesterday, so hopefully nothing has happened to her that has made her change her mind at all, but she has been progressing and I know she can make it!

As for transfers, I am still in Logan, Iowa. However, my companion Elder Hadfield got transfered and new companion is Elder Puckette. I got along super well with Elder Hadfield, so these past few days have been pretty rough for me. Elder Puckette is a great guy. I think I'm going to have to work him hard though. He's been out 18 months and I'm senior companion, so we'll see how he does. But anyways. It's snowing, so pray that I learn how to drive in the snow super fast. Haha I think I'll be fine. I love you all! I hope everything is well and I wish the best for all my family and friend.

One Fast Transfer!

Dear all,

So this transfer pretty much just flew by! I can't believe it's already transfers again! With this year transferres falling on Thanksgiving the mission decided to moves transfers back a day and to make p-day Thanksgiving too, which pretty much means I don't get a p-day this week, but I'll live because I still have a Holiday! They wanted us to do emails today though, so that's why you are recieving an email today, which isn't my p-day, because the Libraries will be closed Thanksgiving. So you all won't be finding out what's going on with transffers until after they already happen.

But anyways, this past week has been pretty good. Chelsey didn't make it to church yesterday, which wasn't too exciting, but that doesn't mean she won't next week. Our weeks have been really busy lately with Zone conferences and Zone trainings and exchanges and so on and so forth, so yeah. But the work is going good. Still having a hard time finding new people. We'll just week working with finding and trying to get our less actives back to church with a couple of investigator lessons here and there.

Anyways, I hope everyone is doing great! Everyone stay safe during the holidays. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Until next Monday! I love you all! Read the Book of Mormon and pray daily!

Hardest Week Of My Mission

Dear All,

So this past week I must say was the hardest week of my mission yet. Why you ask? Because I can't believe how the elections turned out! Maybe I because more emotionally involved then I should have as a missionary, but I just can't believe this! I have never been so disappointed in America in my entire life! I honestly just have a hard time comprehending it. People chose Free Stuff over Freedom! But I must stop my ramble there. With much prayer, I have come to a conclusion. Heavenly Father is in charge no matter what happens. No matter who is President of the USA, Heavenly Father is still there and we need not worry as long as we are doing what He wants us to do.

Some things that redeemed my week in a way was being able to attend the temple, having an investigator who we have been teaching for a while come to church for the first time, and being a missionary! I'm finally in an area close enough to go on temple trips! It was so refreshing to finally be back to the temple after 6 months or so of not having that opportunity. It's was amazing! I hope I stay in a close enough area the rest of my mission! But if not, that will be okay. I am willing to go anywhere where the Lord needs me!

Well I hope everyone is doing great! I love you all! The mission is awesome! It's freezing, but great. Stay warm everyone!

The Elections!

Dear All,

So it's getting colder here in Iowa, but it's still not as cold as
North Platte was before I left, but we should be getting snow at any
time! I'm excited for it, but at the same time, I'm not. It'll
definitly, be different then what I'm used to.

So the work is going fair as usual. Last week was a rough one. We did
a lot of walking and tracting, but with very little spoils. We were
over our monthly miles so that's way we walked a ton, but now it's a
new month so we start over with miles, but in this area it's almost
close to impossible to stay below our monthly alotment, so we are
probably going to be doing a lot of walking, but still might go over,
just because we need the truck to get to each of our areas.

But besides that everything is going great!. My companino is awesome
and the family we live with is amazing too! This week is going to be
exciting/nerveracking with the elections! We find out tomorrow! Oh
goodness!

Well I hope everyone is doing great! I love you all and hope the best
for everyone!

Good Ole Iowa

Dear all,

So this past week was my birthday. It was great! The members we live with really made it a great one! They made me my favorite dinner, steak! They even included some sweet cooked carrots and cooked potatoes. It was awesome! They even got some me pajama pants as a birthday gift!

Well the work here is coming along pretty good! We have two or tree people who are so close to baptism, they just won't commit to a date! It's almost as if they already have testimonies, they just don't want to admit it! It's pretty frustating at times, but it will all work out!  Finding new people is a struggle, but what do you expect with small towns that have been tracked out several times over.

Well everyone, I don't have much time. My companion got gipped out of his time on his computer so I'm going to let him finish his email with my time. Speaking of my companion, he is awesoime! We get along great!  I love you all! Until next week!

Sorry!

Dear all,

Sorry this week is so short! It's my b-day week and I got like 100 emails! Keep it real everyone! Read the scriptures daily. Never forget that you are a child of God. He loves us all! Everything is good hear. Love my new area and companion. It's a little spooky, but hey, it's almost Halloween, so what do you expect.

Love you all,

Logan Iowa

Dear all,

This here I am, in Iowa. My new area is crazy! I am driving a ton! And me being senior companion am the one to drive. We drvie a truck. This is actually the first time in my life actually driving a truck. It's pretty crazy! The ward is amazing here. I have never seen a ward so supportive of missionary work in my life. Our ward covers a ton of little towns that are so far away from each other, and they are still willing to drive us around. I actually now live in a town of 300 people in Persua Iowa. It's crazy! We live with members, but I have yet to meet them because they have been out of town. They should be back tomorrow, so I'll be able to meet them then. I've heard they are awesome! I'm very excited to be working in the "country".

This past week we had the chance to see Gladice Knight (Spelt her first name wrong). It was way awesome and got us a ton of referrals for the mission! If she every comes to town, you should definitely go! Her and her husband's conversion story are so awesome! Powerful stuff.

Well everybody, things are going great! I look forward to the future as always! Keep up the good work everyone! I love you all!

I'm Getting Transferred.

Dear all,

It's offical, today will be my last day in North Platte. I'm getting transferred to the other side of the mission in Logan Iowa! I'm sad to say good bye to all the people I have come to know and love here in North Platte, but I am also excited to get to know new people.

So conference just passed! Wasn't it just wonderful! My companion likes to joke around and say that General Conference is like the Super Bowl for Missionaries. Haha. I loved the talks! My two favorite would have to have been Elder Nash and Elder Bednar's. It was pretty awesome to see Elder Nash give a talk esspecially after having him come and teach us here in the Nebraska Omaha mission! Oh and it's become really really really cold here. It snowed all day Saturday during conference! It's the beginning of October and it's snowing! It was crazy! I don't remember it getting this cold during the middle of Winter in Nevada! I'm in for a brutal Winter I fear! It scares me, but excites me at the same time!

It's the change they made with the ages of missionaries simply exciting! We are going to be getting a ton of new missionaries within the next year! The Lord's work is expanding! This new change will bring wonders to the work and I can see it progressing at incredible rates, esspecially with the elects envolving someone of our faith and people becoming more aware of the "mormons".

Well everyone, we are in great times! This wonderful gospel is spreading fast and we are apart of it, whether we are serving full time or being missionaries from home. I hope we are all doing our best to serve our Father in Heaven and share His wonderful gospel. I hope we are all doing our best to avoid pride at all costs. D&C 101:42 is very simple, but true. I love you all and hope all is well!

One Fast Transfer!

Dear all,

This past transfer has gone by so fast! Next week is transfers again! So my next p-day won't be next Monday, it will be next Wednesday. So be prepared everyone!

So this past week has been very awesome, but very hard. We have pretty much biked everywhere and my legs are starting to get tired. The past two days have been especially hard, but it hasn't been too bad. We found this one investigator Mikey, and he is set for October 27th! He's so great! He came to church yesterday and he loved it! We had the most powerful experience with him yesterday. We met with him and read from the scriptures and then asked him if he would pray to know if the Book of Mormon is true, and during the prayer pause for a little. He did that and the spirit was so strong! And he said he felt it! It was so awesome! He also tells everyone how excited he is for his baptism and how he liked church. He's just amazing!

Well I got to go! I hope everyone is doing good! I love you all and hope the best for everyone! Don't forget to read and pray everyday!

Great Week!

Dear all,

This past week was really good! We had some people in Sutherland (around 30 minutes from North Platte) that are amazing! We went and taught them on Monday last week, and my companion taught them yesterday. I would have taught yesterday, but I ended up getting a migraine (which I'm still recovering a bit from, but feel a lot better then yesterday) and just went on exchanges with members and I stayed at the Merrels house while he went. But anyways, they have been coming to church for the past month or two before we even met them, which is amazing! The family's name is the Jenkins. The parents are both members and they have three kids that are ready to be baptized, the only thing is when we first went over there their Branch President came and for some reason he didn't want to set a day yet. So we are planning on working with him to get them ready for Baptism.

That was a great way to start out the week! Three new investigators who are already progressing! But by the end of the week we ended up with seven new investigators for the week! That's super good for the standard here! The standard for new investigators is three new a week! So needless to say (even though I've already said it) it was a great week!

Second ward had a baptism Saturday night and Micheal got to come! Sarge gave him a ride to it and to our surprise picked up someone else we had seen before. It was really funny. You see, Micheal lives in a place called Liberty House, and it's pretty much a Mental Home/Homeless Shelter. So at the baptism we see Micheal get out of the call, then all of the sudden, another person from the home named Daniel comes out! Now I've spoken to Daniel before and he is a little crazy. He walks around everywhere with these big headphones on, but no music playing, and he always talks about this picture he has of his "father" and how the people killed him on the cross and how his "father" used to take him and his siblings to catholic school. I've seen this picture and it's a picture of Jesus on the cross. After he tells people about how it's the last thing he remembers from his "father" he talks about how he wants to sell it for a couple thousand dollars. So when he popped out of the car I was a little nervous, but everything went good.

Michael had a great time at the baptism and got to see it for himself. He's set for October 29th, on his birthday, still. Hopefully we can prepare him for fully for that day. Daniel did alright at the baptism. During the actual baptism part he needed some comforting from me. For some reason he was afraid he was going to die because he felt really cold, but I just assured him he would be alright. I was just so happy I was able to calm him down with the help of the Lord. I don't think I've ever prayed so hard at a baptism before. Haha

Well everyone, I hope you all are doing great! The work is finally starting to pick up, and I know it will continue to as long as we keep working hard! I know the church is the true church, the very same that Jesus brought to the Earth. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the Prophet today, and I can't wait to hear from him in two weeks! I love you all! Keep up the good work!

No Time!

Dear all,

I'm so sorry everyone, but I have like no time to email this today! I got so caught up in all the emails sent to me so I lost track of time! Just know that this past week has been super crazy! We only had 2 full days of work in our own area! But it was pretty good being able to go to different areas and all that.

This gospel is so true I know that without a doubt. It makes me sad to see so many people who have hardened their hearts to the message and the gospel. If only they will summit to the will of the Lord and read and pray for the truth! It seems so simple to me, why can't people see that. My biggest sadness though, is that these people won't receive all the wonderful blessings that we receive as members of this church, and that just makes me sad.

I love you all and hope everyone is doing well! Next week, this will be my first email sent! Keep up the good work!
