The Work!

Dear all,

Sorry this week is going to be such a short email, but I have no more time!

Anywho, so this past week we had interviews with president and I told him about our Bishop's new plan and this is all he had to say to me. "That is how missionary work is done." So with that being said, I would like to bare my testimony on the importants of the members help with missionary work. Without member help, Michelle and Nick would not have been baptized. I would like to challenge every one of you to make a concious effort to do your part. I even encourage you all to take my bishops idea and write down a list of names and see which one Heavenly Father is preparing to recieve the gospel. I also know that if you do this, you will see much more blessings in your life!

Never forget to pray and read from the scriptures! Our relationship with our Heavenly Father will make us more happier then any other relationship. We need to do our best to have our desires in alignment with Heavenly Father will. This will bring us joy that we never thought we would be able to expreience.

I love you all and hope everyone is doing well!

With tender love and care,
Ofa atu,

It's So Cold!

Dear all,

So this morning it was -1! I thought that was pretty cold. But I've
heard it's been getting much colder elsewhere. Lately, the weather has
been really moody. Saturday it was in the 50's. Then it went straight
to the negatives! It's crazy!

So Michellen and Nick were comfirmed yesterday! It was great to be
apart of it! You could just feel the Holy Ghost entering into them! It
was amazing!

So I am very excited to try something new this coming week that our
Bishop has suggested! Our Bishop had the idea to start working toward
member meal appointments and while we are there, we work with the
families and have them make a list of people they are going to start
working towards bringing into the Gospel. Then we are going to ask the
whole family to pray about which of those people to start working with
first, then we are to follow-up with them every now and again to see
if they are making progress. The goal is to get more Michelle and Nick
experiences. Without the Deakins, we wouldn’t have had a baptism. When
the members and the full time missionaries work together, that's where
the magic happens! Remember that everyone! Everyone has something they
can do to build up the Lord's kingdom!

Well I hope everyone is doing well! May God be with you all, and may
you live your lives in a way that will invite the companionship of the
Holy Ghost constantly.

With tender love and care,
Ofa atu,

They're Baptized!

Dear all,

So yesterday was the baptism! It was amazing! We had it after church so that people wouldn't have to make multiple trips to the church and so that we could get more member support, which we did! We had almost the whole ward there for the baptism! It was amazing! And Michelle and Nick enjoyed it very much. After the baptism and during the day, Michelle expressed to me how she felt "different" and how she felt like she was on "cloud 9". She is also very excited for this next Sunday when she and Nick will be recieving the Gift of the Holy Ghost through comfirmation. I have loved every minute of teaching Michelle and Nick, and will miss teaching them, but I am very excited to see them progress in the Gospel. I will never forget this experience, and I will never forget them. I have made friends that will remain my friends for Eternity. I have finally, for the first time on my mission, had a taste of seeing the Gospel change someones life in such a drastic way.

But the work doesn't stop! There are more people our there that need this wonderful Gospel. Our finding efforts aren't doing much, but I'm confident that whether or not we find people through our efforts, the Lord sees our diligence and blesses us for it. Even if we can't see the blessing.

I wish everyone well and another great week! May we all do our part in building up the Lord's Kingdom!

With tender love and care,
Ofa atu,

This Sunday!

Dear all,

So the work has been going forward! We have been doing a lot of tracking with little to no success, but I know the Lord has seen our diligance and is blessing us for it, whether it is in ways we can see, or ways we can't see.

This past week was really hard for me, esspecially with my Uncle David's funeral and all, but it has also been one of the best weeks of my mission. I have told you all about Michelle King before. Well she is planning on being baptized this coming Sunday and has passed all the baptismal interviews! President Weston came down to interview her and all he could say to us was "She's been taught well. She's been fellowshipped well. She's ready." This words were like music to my ears! I knew she would make it! From the momment I met her, I just knew she would be baptized! Her baptism will take place after church. She has also asked me to be the one to baptize her. What an honor and priveledge! I just can't wait to watch her bloom in the gospel! I know that she will experience such joys that she hasn't been able to until now. I will never forget this experience. The most power experience thus far in my life.

Her son Nick will also be baptized as well! This Sunday will be a wonderful day. I am excited and can not express in full how excited I am!

Well I hope everyone is doing well! I want you all to know that I love you all! I have been so blessed through out my life, and I just keep being blessed. I know that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ lives! My redeemer lives! Until next week!

Yet Another Six Weeks

Dear all,

So it's been another 6 weeks. They just fly by even faster and faster. Though, this cold weather does seem to slow it down a bit. I'm a panzy when it comes to cold. But anyways, so I'm staying in Logan Iowa with my companion, Elder Puckette again. This past transfer as been a good one, lets make this one even better.

I had a great Christmas! We spent it as a District and went to the Deakins and played some board/card games with them. Then we went back to the Hess' (where me and Elder Puckette live) and started with our phone calls. It was really pretty hecktic with all four of us trying to cordinate our calls and such, but it turned out great!

We haven't really been able to find any more investigators, but we still have Michelle. We had to resechule her baptism, but I'm sure she will make her new baptismal date of the 13th of January! I just know she will make it!

This past Saturday was a hard one for me. During the day, I randomly started to feel sad. Then that night, I got a call from President Weston telling me that my Uncle David had passed away that morning. It was some hard news to take, but being at a members home, I tried to hold in the tears as much as I could. But this news isn't all sad. In fact, with the Plan of Salvation, it's almost not sad at all. I know that my Uncle David is being taken care of by Heavenly Father. I know that I will see him again. I am so very thankful for the knowleage that we have as a church! I can't wait to see my Uncle David once again, but this time I will be able to see him in his normal/perfect state. Until that day, "God be with you until we meet again" Uncle David.
